Harrison Holidays Ltd – status of holidays

UPDATE – FUNDING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED AND FUTURE OVERNIGHT COACH HOLIDAYS WILL OPERATE AS PLANNED.
The Administrators previously advised that there would be no further funding from the Company’s bond provider, BCH, to operate future holidays. BCH advised that the high cost of administering future operations and the difficulty in finding suitable alternative operators were the reasons for their decision.
This was very disappointing for the Administrators and the Company’s management, as we had together worked very hard to successfully operate holidays that went ahead in the first week of the Company being in Administration. Those holidays operated at a profit, with suitable alternative operators found. Administrators were able to demonstrate that future holidays would also be operated at a profit.
However, the Administrators have successfully negotiated funding and, in conjunction with the Company’s management, are continuing to operate the business. This means that it is now very likely that all overnight coach holidays will go ahead as planned. Unfortunately, day trips will not be operated as these are not viable under the present circumstances. The list of holidays below has been updated to reflect these developments.
It is planned that trading under Administration will continue until the completion of the holidays up to and including departures on 30 December 2011 and it is envisaged that a buyer will be found to operate holidays booked for 2012. There has been a lot of interest in the business and the Administrators are confident a buyer will be found.
